In 2010, 16 Weltwaerts volunteers from Germany spent a year in Auroville. With the idea of keeping some videos as a memory of their stay, they started filming with a mini DV camera. The project grew fast and, at the end of their year, they suddenly ended up having produced a full length documentary video. It shows the work and daily life of 16 Weltwaerts volunteers in Auroville. The name is Jalshaghar. On Thursday 28th of July was their very first concert. Excellent and accomplished musicians from Auroville and Pondicherry musical communities had come together in an attempt to fuse Indian classical music with jazz.
